Why is a letter from the institution’s highest ranking executive required?

Each submitted report must be accompanied by a letter from the institution’s president, chancellor, or highest ranking executive that confirms that the report has been checked for accuracy. Sign-off from the institution’s chief executive encourages data accuracy, promotes visibility of sustainability within the campus community, and encourages administrative involvement in STARS. You can learn more about this data accuracy requirement and more about data accuracy on the STARS data accuracy webpage: https://stars.aashe.org/pages/support/stars-report-accuracy.html
