Why is a letter from an executive required?

Each submitted report must be accompanied by a letter from the institution’s president, chancellor, or other high ranking executive that confirms that the report has been checked for accuracy. Sign-off from an executive encourages data accuracy, promotes visibility of sustainability within the campus community, and encourages administrative involvement in STARS. You can learn more about this data accuracy requirement and more about data accuracy on the STARS data accuracy webpage.
